This work package develops innovative educational materials that integrate civic engagement into university courses and provides students with hands-on experience working alongside community organizations. It transforms how universities teach social responsibility by moving beyond theory to practice, giving students real-world skills while supporting NGOs/CSOs with fresh perspectives and volunteer capacity.

Key Activities & Outputs:
  • Civic Classroom Methodology: A replicable framework for designing and implementing civic engagement courses in higher education. Provides step-by-step guidance for universities to integrate community-based learning into their curricula.
  • Course Materials Package: Complete modular teaching resources including instructor guides, student activity worksheets, flipped classroom videos and presentations, and assessment tools. All materials are ready to adapt and use in different academic contexts.
  • Course Piloting: Testing the Civic Classroom materials at three partner universities with real students and instructors. Feedback collected helps refine and improve the materials before wider dissemination.
  • Experiential Learning Placements: At least six students complete practical work placements with local NGOs/CSOs as part of their coursework. Students develop professional skills while contributing to community projects.
  • Community Impact Innovation Expos: Three showcase events bringing together students, university staff, and NGO/CSO representatives. Students present their experiences and pitch innovative collaboration ideas to potential partners.
